  • Eclogites in northern Jiangsu experienced over five stages of metamorphism and deformation, of which there are at least two stages of HP or UHP metamorphism and deformation. Their p T t trajectory rotates clockwise. After the eclogites formed, because of rebounding and overthrusting of the terrane, they quickly returned to the middle crust in Indosinian time, and then experienced regional uplift and extensional exhumation in the Yanshanian Himalayan times. Finally, they were exhumed onto the surface. The Su Jiao orogenic belt went through at least more than three orogenies or epeirorogenies, i.e. the Jinningian orogeny, Indosinian orogeny and Yanshanian orogeny.
