DOUBT ABOUT THE "QINGHEZHEN FAUNA" OF NORTHERN HEBEI

Fossils occur in the Changzhaugou, Chuanlinggou and Gaoyuzhuang Formations of the Changcheng System and mstamorphic series at 15 fossil localities with fossils of the "Qinghezhen fauna"discovered recently in northern Hebei, which indicates that the age range of fossils is by no means restricted to the Sinan-Early Cambrian. Besides, fossils occur in amphibolite-facies metamorphic rocks and ultramylonite and metamorphosed intrusive rocks at many fossil localities, which is hard to understand. Therefore, the authors doubt whether they are true fossils.
