THE FEATURES OF GOLD-CONTROLLING STRUCTURES IN THE QINLING REGION AND DIRECTION IN GOLD PROSPECTING

    • This paper gives a general account of the history of tectonic evolution and features of multi-stage mineralization in the Qinling region, The deep fault system occupies an important position in rock and ore formation. It has controlled the formation of gold deposits. The gold-controlling structures in the region are complex, mainly including shear zones at the intersection of structures, interlayer compressive fracture zones and strongly altered fault zonese It is pointed out that Carlin-type gold deposits are very widespread and that ore-forming conditions are very favourable there, so gold prospecting in the Qinling region is promising.
