OUTCROP SEQUENCE STRATIGRAPHY OF THENEOPROTEROZIC IN THE HUNJIANG AREA,JILIN PROVINCE

Three sequences have been distinguished in the Neoproterozoic strata in the southern partof Jilin. The authors mainly discuss the types of parasequences and their stacking patterns ofthe Wanlong,Badaojiang and Qinggouzi Formations and diachronism of the formations usingthe theory of sequence stratigraphy and again analyse the available age data. Besides accordingto sequence stratigraphy, event stratigraphy, biostratigraphy and chronostratigraphy,the au-thors advance a new scheme of stratigraphic correlation of the Neoproterozoic of Jilin andsouthern Liaoning.
