LATE TRIASSIC FRESH-WATER TRACE FOSSILS FROM THE SHIWAN MOUNTAINS,GUANGXI PROVINCE

    • Late Triassic red beds of the Fulongao Formation exposed on the Shiwan Mountains in southern Guangxi consist mainly of red conglomerate, sandstone, siltstone and mudstone,in which body fossils are absent. The fresh-water trace fossils occurring in the middle part of the Fulongao Formation include Thalassinoides sp., Pascichnia, etc., representing probably a fluvial flood-plain environment. The fresh-water trace fossils described here are first reported in China.
