SEQUENCE STRATIGRAPHIC,CYCLIC STRATIGRAPHIC AND MULTIPLE STRATIGRAPHIC DIVISION——A CASE STUDY OF THE LOWER PALEOZOIC IN WESTERN BEIJING AND NORTHERN HEBEI

In light of the theory of modern stratigraphy, the authors analyze the connotations and attributes of the units from the multiple stratigraphic division and the criteria for the division.The relationships of sequence stratigraphy and cyclic stratigraphy with the traditional stratigraphic units are also discussed.Finally,taking for example the Paleozoic in western Beijing and northern Hebei,the authors present the application and analysis of the theories of sequence stratigraphic,cyclic stratigraphic and multiple stratigraphic division.
