NEW PROGRESS IN THE STUDY OF THE ZETANG OPHIOLITIC MELANGE IN TIBET

The Zetang ophiolitic melange is an important component part of the Yarlung Zangboophiolite belt and controlled by the plate junction zone. It may be well correlated with sometypical sequential ophiolites at home and abroad.The melange originated in an intraplate ex-tensional rift and is the product of the marginal sea or small oceanic basin. Its age ranges fromthe Triassic to Early Cretaceous.
