THE UPPER CARBONIFEROUS LOWER PERMIAN For-AMINIFER FOSSIL ASSEMBLAGE IN SOUTHERN ANHUI

The authors discovered abundant forminifer fossils in the Upper Carboniferous-Lower Permi-an in southern Anhui.Through a systematic study,they established two assemblages in the UpperCarboniferous and three assernblages in the Lower Permian, thus filling in the gap in the LateCarboniferous-Early Permian foraminifer biotas in the area. There new assemblages have beencorrelated with those occurring in corresponding strata at home.
