NEW RECOGNITION OF THE EARLY PRECAMBIAN;GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE IN WESTERN SHANDONG

    • The main pattern of the basement folds in the Early Precambrian metamorphic terrane of western Shandong is represented by alternate arrangement of synclines made up of the Taishan Rock Group and the anticlines composed of TTG granite. Basement fractures mainly include the Xiagang-Huamawan-Nanlaopo tectonic complex zone, the Yi-Shu fracture zoneand several major ductile shear zone. Under the influence of the Qianxi, Fuping and Wutai movements, Early Precambrian metamorphic rocks underwent metamorphism and deformation several times. The Western Shandong block rapidly expanded and thus fomed during the period from 2800 to 2300Ma B. P.
