THE META-FLYSCH NAPPE IN THE NORTHERN PART OF THE DABIE MOUNTAINS

    • The meta flysch nappe in the north part of the Dabie Mountains is composed of the Foziling Group and Luzhenguan Group. Located to the north of the meta ophiolite mélange, it belongs to the cover of the south part of the North China continental plate. Its age is Sinian early Paleozoic to Devonian. The metamorphism is mainly of amphibolite and greenschist facies, and it is inferred that near the metaophiolite mélange (the Foziling Group) metamorphism of granulie or eclogite facies might have occurred. The rocks in the meta flysch nappe are intensely deformed, but the grade of deformation differs somewhat from place to place.
