STRUCTURAL STYLE AND STRATIGRAPHICAL SEQUENCE OF THE MIDDLE PROTEROZOIC SHUANGQIAOSHAN GROUP IN NORTHWESTERN JIANGXI AND THEIR GEOLOGICAL SIGNIFICANCE

    • The Shuangqiaoshan Group in northwestern Jiangxi, which is determined to be of Middle Proterozoic Jixianian age, can be divided into the Anlelin Formation and Xiushui Formation, including 11 lithological members. The major structural style of the group is marked by late E W trending folds superimposed on early N S trending folds. On the basis of a comprehensive analysis of the structural style, stratigraphical sequence, metamorphic temperatures and pressures and sedimentary environment, the authors give a negative answer to the long disputed "Xiushui movement".
