Abstract
In this paper the author explains with examples that the study of granite must be based on geological mapping and holds that the preparation of 1: 200, 000 geological maps alone is not enough and that it is necessary to prepare geological maps at relatively large scales. The study of granite must also be closely linked with the study of regional geology. As the study of granite cannot be accom- plished overnight, the establishment of field research bases is a relatively ef- fective way.
