    • According to new information obtained from 1∶50 000 regional geological survey carried out during the Eighth Five Year Plan period, the authors confirm for the first time the existence of the Zhangjiakou Formation in the Sanshijiazi basin, western Liaoning and discuss such problems as the types of rock facies, features of rock associations, age assignment and contact relationships between the overlying and underlying strata.
