AN ANALYSIS OF THE TENGCHONG CIRCULAR STRUCTURE

    • The widespread development of circular structures represented by the "Tengchong ring" is an important feature of the geological structure in the Tengchong area. 26 structures have been interpreted as being circular structures in the area. Among these, the origin of 23 circular structures has been deter- mined. A magma heat source might exist in the underground of the area, and its multiple upward intrusions gave rise to granite masses, hydrothermal deposits, volcanos, geotherm and magma impact earthquakes. In terms of its outer configuration, the heat source is manifested by the shape of circular structures, and the "Tengchong ring" is made up of circular structures of multiple orders and is the result of multiple thermodynamic activity at depths.
