THE SPORO-POILEN ASSEMBLAGES OF THE LOWER PLEISTOCENE MINGQI FORMATION IN MINGQI COUNTY,FUJIAN

The paper discusses the fossil spores and pollen obtained in the sedimen- tary layers overlying the basalt of the Mingqi Formation,Mingqi County,Fujian province.According to the distribution of fossil spores and pollen at vertical section of a drill hole,five assemblages are distinguished:Ⅰ.Fagus+Cycloba- lanopsis;Ⅱ.Cyclobalanopsis+Castanopsis-Pinus;Ⅲ.Fagus-Pinus;Ⅳ.Fagus +Cyclobalanopsis+Castanopsis-Taxodiaceae;Ⅴ.Cyclobalanopsis+Castanopsis+ Altingia,which may be lower Pleistocene in age. The palaeoclimatologg and palaeobotan at that time are also discussed in this paper.
