    Discovery and significance of the Jimao Cave in Western Beijing

    • The newly discovered Jimao Cave is a karst cave. It is located at Beijiao Village, Fozizhuang Township, Fangshan District, Beijing Municipality. According to the records of cultural relics discovered in the cave, this cave had been a site of human activity and rest as early as the Tang Dynasty (670~733 A.D.). It is not only of value in karst geological and archeological studies but also has good prospects of becoming a new tourist scenic spot.
