    DISCOVERY OF THE JIULONGSHAN FORMATION IN THE MING TOMBS AREA, BEIJING

    • This paper introduces the first discovery of the Jiulongshan Formation in the Ming Tombs area in Beijing and its geological significance. Its discovery indicates that this formation is also exposed in the Jundushan area in the Yanshan Mountains. The discovery of large amounts of intact fossils plants is a major breakthrough in respect of the Jiulongshan Formation in the Beijing area and even in the Yanshan area. Besides it is also verified that there are also manifestations of the Yanshanian movement in the Ming Tomb area.
