DISCOVERY AND GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SERPENTINIC JADE IN THE GUIYALA AREA, TIBET

    • During the 1∶200 000 regional geological survey of the Songleng and Zhuwagen Sheets, Tibet, the author studied the geological mineral deposit, petrological, mineralogical, geochemical characteristics of serpentinic jade in the Guiyala area, Zogang county, which indicates that serpentinic jade was formed by the action of magmatic hydrothermal solutions on the Xiongen Co Formation dolomite. This study has provided basic data for the research on the tectonic evolution and metallogeny of nonmetallic mineral deposits as well as search for gemstone jade in Tibet.
