    THE DISCOVERY OF SYCIDIUM FOSSILS IN THE YEZHUTANG FORMATION IN XICHANG

    • Sycidium fossils have been discovered in the Lower Permian defined by predecessors. The authors discuss the age of the horizon containing the fossils and consider that the Yezhutang Formation containing the Sycidium haikouense-S. lagenarium assemblage was deposited in the Dongganlingian Stage, broadly equivalent to the Givetian Stage(Middle Devonian) of Europe.
