    STRATIGRAPHICAL DIVISION AND NOMENCLATURE OF THE TERTIARY IN THE TANGGULA MOUNTAINS

    • According to the data of 1:200000 regional surveys, the Tertiary of the Tanggula Mountains is divided into the Paleocene-Eocene, Oligocene, Miocene and Pliocene, which are named the Tuotuohe Group (E1-2tt), Yaxico Group (E3yx), Chabama Group (N1ch), Wudaoliang Group (N1wd) and Quguo Formation (N2q) respectively. The discovery of saline mineral deposits in the Yaxico Group and zinc, silver and iron in the Wudaoliang Group is promising.
