THE DEVONIAN-CARBONIFEROUS BOUNDARY OF DIFFERENT SEDIMENTARY FACIES IN GUILIN

    • In the Guilin area, marine Devonian-Carboniferous sediments are well developed. The Devonian-Carboniferous boundary section with continuous outcrops and different sedimentary facies and biotas can be well correlated with analogous sections both at home and abroad. This paper introduces the sections including the auxilliary international Devonian-Carboniferous boundary stratotype-the Nanbiancun section of Guilin. The Devonian-Carboniferous boundary is discussed on the basis of the distribution of conodonts, ammonoids, foraminifeis, ostracods, corals and brachiopods as well as biotic events and rock events. The paper provides abundant data for the definition and correlation of the Devonian-Carboniferous boundary with different sedimentary facies and biotas.
