DISCOVERY OF TISOA IN THE MIDDLE TRIASSIC BIANYANG FORMATION IN GUIZHOU

This paper first reports the ichnogenus Tisoa （a kind of burrow） from the Middle Triassic Latinic Bianyang Formation in Bianyang Township,Luodian county,Guizhou province.A new ichnospecies Tisoa banyangensis is established, and its characteristics are described.This type of trace fossil is a burrow dug by suspension feeding bivalves filled by sediments.Two tubes in the burrow are siphons of the bivalves.The trace fossil is of “shallow type”.It was deposited in a deep water open shelf.
