PROGRESS IN REGIONAL GEOLOGICAL SURVEYS INSHANDONG PROVINCE OVER THE PAST TEN YEARS

During the last ten years,by using the new mapping method some prominent advances and results have been achieved in completing 1∶200 000 regional revision surveys,1∶50 000 regional surveys and stratigraphic purification in Shandong province.With regard to the Precambrian metamorphic stratigraphy,the Bureau has revised the lithostratigraphic division and age assignments of the Taishan Group Complex,Jiaodong Group Complex and Early Paleozoic strata and established the Cretaceous Dasheng Group.In the respect of intrusive rocks,the hierarchical system of intrusive rocks in the whole province has been preliminarily established.In particular,many metamorphosed and deformed older plutonic rocks have bee separated from the Precambrian metamorphic rock series.Thus some new and much deepergoing ideas has been got about the features of geological and structural evolution of the whole province.
