The compilation of serial geological maps of Oceanian region

The compilation of serial geological maps of Oceanian region is a concrete research work which is subordinated to the research project of 'Analysis of Mineralization Regularity and Dominant Mineral Resources Potentiality of the Major Mineralization Belts in Oceanian Region'. The collection and choice of interrelated data, establishment of database and compilation and proofreading of maps constitute a large-scale integration of geological and mineral resources data of Oceanian region, with the maps composed of 1:5000000 geological map, geotectonic map, mineral resources map, mineralization zoning and ore-prospecting prognosis map, the secondary maps comprising monomineral resources maps and the auxiliary maps consisting of geophysical prospecting map, geochemical prospecting map and remote-sensing information map, together with reference maps of some regions (states) or major monomineral resources. The compilation of the serial maps and the establishment of database may be conducive to making the acquaintance of the general geological and mineral resources situation of Oceanian region and can provide convenience for inquiring, visiting and extracting relevant data.
