The sequence stratigraphic characteristics and sedimentary environment of Devonian in Karaqi area, Xinjiang

Through the study of petrological characteristics, sequence stratigraphy, geochemistry, sedimentary structures of Devonian period, the authors divided the sequence stratigraphy and restored sedimentary environment of Devonian. The Devonian strata can be divided into four third sequences. The source area was mainly provenance of recycled orogenic belt on passive epicontinental margin. The sedimentary environment was a barrier-free littoral-neritic environment in Devonian. The major factors that controlled the formation of these three tertiary sequences were structural movement and sea level fluctuation in Devonian.
