    Deep penetration technology in search for hidden gold deposits in plateau cold areas:a case study of the Zhongqu gold deposit in Luqu area, southern Gansu Province

    • In this paper,the integrated technology of deep penetration to forecast hidden gold ore deposits in the plateau cold area, where the conventional prospecting methods seem inefficient. This coalescence technology includes Controlled Source Audio-frequency Magnetotelluric (SCAMT), geoelectric chemical extraction method (CHIM) and the method of measuring the adsorbed mercury in the surface soil. Through the feasible research on the existing ore by such technological combination, the authors found that it was effective in detecting the hidden ore deposits, and hence the prospecting model for this special region was established. With this integrated method, the authors delineated eight exploration targets in the periphery of the Zhongqu orefield.
