Application of geo-economic model: A case study of copper-nickel sulfide deposits in eastern Tianshan Mountains, China

On the basis of ore-forming discipline and regulation of Cu-Ni sulfide deposit and national reserves data to the end of 2005 ,by analyzing and summarizing the studies about models of grade-tonnage home and abroad, descriptive and grade-tonnage models of Cu-Ni sulfide deposit has been founded in China. By applying it in the eastern Tianshan, the mineral resources potential of Cu-Ni sulfide deposit has been assessed, this conclusion has been drawn that 29 mine-field-grade prospective areas have been delineated and Cu resource of 4.53 Mt and Ni resource of 4.48 Mt have been estimated. This indicates that eastern Tianshan area has large potential of prospecting for this type of deposits.
