Preliminary study on source area and physical and chemical characteristics for aeoliandust deposits in Beijing, China

    • The intention of this paper is to survey dust in atmosphere of Beijing City. The purpose of this research is figuring out the relation of the dust and soil around Beijing. The dust samples of different height at 325m Meteorological Tower of Institute of Atmospheric Physics (IAP) were collected in two time period (2007.6.7-2007.11.6 and 2007.11.6-2008.6.12). The characters of physical and chemical analysis indicated that the primary factor of influence dust is wind power which has perfectly mixed the matter of local place and far off place. The matters of far off place are much more than local place with height increasing. It has a linear relation between ratio of Si/Al and heigth of dust sample. From the relation, we can imprecisely figure out the approximate heigth of the equal proportion mix matter in local place and far off place.
