    Recognition method for geochemical background and man-made influence to trace elements in the lower reaches of the Yellow River of Shandong Province, China.

    • It can provide important information for pollution evaluation and geochemical early-warning to identify the source of elements anomaly in soil. This paper gives a mathematic method to calculate the “geochemical background content” of trace elements in top-soil, which is based on the linear relation between major and trace elements in lower reaches of Yellow River of Shandong province. Then it can be used as a way to evaluate the soil pollution by quantitative analysis of man-made pollution in soil according to the difference between actual analysis and calculation data.
