Abstract
Economic ore bodies of chromite in the Luobusha area, Tibet are mainly hosted in a specific lithological horizon beneath the boundary of ophiolitic crust and mantle (that is beneath the Moho boundary) and related to specific lithological structures. They occur mainly as ore-bearing belts. Currently, it's quite important to stick to this principle of the ore-bearing belts as general direction. The currently-practiced exploration approaches are restricted to deposits distributing in surface and shallow areas; therefore, it is imperative to strengthen exploration extent in discovering hidden orebodies in the middle and bottom parts of the ore belt. The authors also proposed various exploration methods to different ore sections and some suggestions on how to delineate potential areas. In the end, the paper predicted that the prospective scale of chromite in Lubusha, Xiangkashan and Kangquanla mineralization areas has a big potential to upgrade several times of the proven reservoirs.
