World geochemical reference materials used for the analysis of PGEs

    • As metrology standards, PGEs reference materials play important roles in the quality control of geoanalysis, the calibration of analytical instruments, the assessment of analytical methods and the arbitration analysis. The analysis of platinum group elements (PGEs) is one of the most challenging tasks in geoanalysis. The preparation of PGEs reference material is difficult, so there is much less PGEs reference materials in the world. This kind of situation strongly influences the correct evaluation of analytical methods and the quality of analytical results for PGEs. So it is also the bottle-neck for the investigation, evaluation and related research of PGEs minerals and natural resources. In this paper, we collected 101 certification data for PGEs in 34 PGEs reference materials and 52 normal geochemical reference materials in the world. To be convenient to use all these reference materials, the concentration informations for other elements are collected also. In addition, for the convenience of correct reference materials selection during the analysis of PGEs, all certified values for PGEs are listed in tables according to the concentration (from high concentration to low concentration) for each PGE. It is stressed that the application of those PGEs reference materials will make a great contribution to the development of analytical methods of PGEs researches, taking full use of them will be a guarantee for the reliability of the analytical results of PGEs, and an improvement for the level of investigation, evaluation and research of PGEs mineral and resouling structures of rock and ore. Explosive breccias are also the favorable pathway and reservoir space of ore fluid. The area are prospective for more ore deposits.
