Examination of sampling depth and granularity on geochemical soil survey at mining and external areas——Taking the Chengmenshan copper mine, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, China as an example

    • Geochemical soil survey is one of the most important techniques in geochemical prospect for developing at the depth and periphery of some significant metallogenic belts. In order to get the natural and clear information of mineralization zoning without artificial interference, and control the workload to some extent, it′s necessary to experimentalize of the depth and granularity in soil profile. According to the experiment of the depth and granularity in soil profile on the deposit of Chengmenshan copper mine, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, in condition of humid low mountains and hills landscape, the study shows that: ① The sampling depth should be set at about 40~50cm; ② There is no obvious concentration grains of element Cu in different soil layers, it′s only need to collect -20 mesh (<0.84mm) soil samples in the outdoors to gain the work demands.
