Grade-tonnage model of sulfur deposits in China

    • Grade-tonnage model is an important part of mineral resource potential evaluation. Based on the National Reserve Database of Mineral Resources in China (1999) and the statistical validation in terms of frequency histogram, normal distribution and lognormal distribution of 285 sulfur deposits all over the country, this paper established separate models for all different deposit types. The distribution characteristics of all types show that the sulfur resource prospecting potential in China has a preferable prospect, furthermore, hydrothermal-pyrite type and pyrite sedimentary type of sulfur deposit are main prospecting types and direction for the future.
