Major measures adopted by foreign governments to strengthen mineral resource exploration

    • Under market economy condition, government plays a key role in commercial mineral resource exploration. Because of different national conditions in different countries and different stages within a development cycle of their mining industry, measures taken by government to strengthen the mineral exploration are different. At the flourishing period, by strengthening fundamental, strategic and prospective geological survey, implementing a series of large-scale non-profit exploration promoting program, it’s possible to obtain large amount of brand-new fundamental geologic data and exploration information, which is helpful to enhance mineral exploration and its serviceability. At the depression period, government takes measures to stimulate funding and financing, thus maintain a constant investment on mining exploration by national investment (fund), subsidy or tax abatement, so as to create a favorable environment for mineral exploration. This paper analyzes in detail powerful measures taken by foreign governments to strengthen mineral exploration, which should relatively give a reference to the exploration work in China.
