3D visualization model of the Xiaohe-Shimenkan ore block in the Liuju copper deposit, Dayao, Yunnan, China

    • The Liuju copper deposit in Dayao is a typical example of sandstone (shale)-type copper deposits in China. Based on an integrated study of the data of the well core, sections and topography in the Xiaohe-Shimenkan ore block by using the surpac vision 3D visualization software, the authors have constructed a surface model of the mining area, thus achieving the 3D visions of strata and orebodies in an ore block controlled by engineering works, and on that basis, combined with the geological conditions for the formation of the deposit, the authors constructed a 3D model of the strata, orebodies and topography, thus visually displaying the distributing characteristics of the strata and orebodies in the mining area and providing a scientific basis for mineral exploration at depth and exploration design.
