Demands and targets of urban geological work

According to many contacts and intercourses with the government d epartments and on the basis of an analysis of the market demands,the author proposes that the targets of urban geological work may be divided into the long-term one and the short-term one.Urban geological work should first accomplis h the short-term target.He also puts forward the view that urban geological s urvey embodies the integration of geological and mineral management and land m anagement and is an effective way of the integration of geological and minera l administrative departments into the administration of land and resources.The author further analyzes the most favorable opportunity for carrying out urba n geological work in the contexts of fundamental geological survey,special-su bject or key geological surveys and urban geo-environmental mon-itoring.Fina lly the author proposes three suggestions for the strategic disposition of u rban geological work.
