Application of the GIS technique in the assessment of the eco-environment

GIS performs a powerful function in the spatial data management and analysis.With regard to the characteristics of the eco-environmental geological investigation and assessment ,the authors propose a basic concept and technical process for the application of the GIS technique in the assessment of the eco-envi-ronment and the key points for the establishment of the relevant graphic-attribute database,introduce the basic procedures of the eco-environment assessment and discuss the selection of assessment indices and con-struction of the analysis and assessment model.
