    Geological characteristics, metallogenic model and criteria for exploration of the large South Tianshan gold metallogenic belt in Central Asia

    • This paper briefly introduces the tectonic environment ,geological characteristics and distribu tion of the large South Tianshan metallogenic ore belt in Central Asia.The South Tianshan of Cen tral Asia is an important gold metallogenic belt in the world,in which there occur a number of world-class mineral deposits.In the belt,in addition to shear zone type(orogenic)gold deposits,there are also skarn,vein-let-stockwork and cryptoexplosion breccia types.Country rocks are Precambrian and Early Paleozoic low-grade metamorphic series and mineralization is closely related to Permian granitic rocks.Ore fluids are rich in CO 2 and wall-rock alteration related to mineralization is strong.Generally the assemblage of the ele-ments Au ,Ag ,Sb,Te ,As ,W and Bi is the ore guide.
