Collisional orogenic belt and metallogenetic divisions

    • There is a strong coupling relationship between collisional orogeny and metallogeny and a posi-tive correlation between the size of ore deposits and the strength of collision. In a collisional orogenic belt, the strength of crust-mantle interaction is also positively correlated with metallogeny;especially in a multi-stage collisional orogenic belt,crust-mantle interaction was stronger and the belt contains abundant mineral resources. The tectonic evolution of collisional orogenic belts is studied in detail and corresponding tectono-metallogenic units and metallogenic provinces and belts are distinguished. From the view-point of collisional orogeny, the author proposes that the West Tianshan,West Kunlun,Altun-North Qilian,East Kunlun,Qinling-Dabie,Sanjiang(Three-Rivers)in southwestern China and Kangdian continental-margin orogenic belts are important metallogenic belts.
