MESO-AND NEOPROTEROZOIC SEQUENCE STRATIGRAPHY IN JIXIAN

The authors have preliminarily studied Meso-and Neoproterozoic sequences of strata andrestudied the sequence boundaries of different sequences,types of parasequences,facies evolution and sea-level changes by using the principle and method of sequence stratigraphy.Eighteen sequence boundaries have been recognized and thus 17 sequences have been distinguished,of which five sequence boundaries are not coincident with rock formation boundaries. Oil source beds have been studied by means of the abundance of organisms. The authors paid attention to the second development of available data when they studied this Meso-and Neoproterozoic stratigraphic section with new view-points and methods.
