SEVERAL PROBLEMS CONCERNING THE FIELD SURVEYS OF SEQUENCE STRATIGRAPHY IN 1∶50 000 REGIONAL SURVEYS

This paper discusses in detail the field survey method of sequence stratigraphy, the sedimentary features and criteria for recognition of subsequences, unconformity, starved intervals and maximum and the establishment of the regional stratigraphical framework marine flooding surface in regard to the 1∶50 000 regional surveys, and further expounds the relationships of sequence stratigraphy to lithostratigraphy and its guiding role in mapping. Besides, the expression form and contents of the map face of sequence stratigraphy are also proposed in the paper.
