THE BASIC CHARACTERISTICS OF REGIONAL GEOLOGY OF GUANGDONG PROVINCE

This paper was written on the basis of voluminous actual data obtained through thirty years of regional geological surveys in Guangdong province.It systematically summarizes the basic characteristics of the regional geology of Guangdong province.The content includes three parts:stratigraphy,rocks and geological structure.The paper probes into the relations of volcanic and meta- morphic rocks with tectonic settings,deals with the division of tectonic cycles and tectonic movements and analyses the general regularities of the migration of the center of tectonic activity.
