    BASIC REGIONAL GEOLOGICAL FEATURES OF XIZANG

    • Xizang is the main part of the Qinghai Xizang plateau.Tectonically,it belongs to the eastern sector of the gigantic Alps Himalayan mountain system between the north and south continents and is an important component part of the Tethys tectonic domain.The author briefly introduces the stratigraphy,magmatic rocks,metamorphic rocks and metamorphism and tectonic framework in Xizang,expounds their formation environment and distribution characteristics, and presents the tectonic evolution of the Xizang Tethys.
