THE DISCOVERY OF UPPER SINIAN AND LOWR CAMBRIAN MICROFOSSIL PLANTS IN CENTRAL JIANGXI PROVINCE AND THEIR SIGNIFICANCE

    • In the regional surveys of the Donggu Sheet at a scale of 1:50,000 in central Jiangxi, abunant microfossil plants were for the first time collected in the upper Sinian Laohutang Formation and the Lower Cambrian Niujiaohe Group, thus providing paleontological evidence for the classification of this sequeuce of strata. The microfossil plants of the two formations have their own peculiarities, but have some common elements too. This shows that the deposition of the Sinian and Cambrian were continuous.
