Research progress in metallogenic correlation and potential evaluation of metallogenic belts surrounding China's mainland is described in brief in this paper. The mineral potential and metallogenic geology of neighboring territories are investigated. Based on correlation of metallogenic processes, geological characteristics and patterns of trans-border metallogenic belts surrounding China, the authors compiled maps describing trans-border basic geology and metallogeny and thus gained a deeper insight into the geology and metallogeny as well as the resource potential in key regions of trans-border metallogenic belts. Strategic ore prospective areas are also delineated. These results supply theoretical guidance to basic geology and regional metallogeny for mineral exploration in important trans-border metallogenic belts between China and its neighboring territories.
