  • Production and consumption of non-ferrous metal in China have witnessed a rapid growth, yet there is still a severe lack of domestic raw material. For example, about 70% of the copper output, 50% of the aluminum, 40% of zinc and 25% of nickel rely on imported raw ore, even our dominant mineral resource – tin, also begins to import from overseas. The incremental reserve obtained by mineral exploration can’t catch up with the speed of the mining consumption from nonferrous metal mines, which indicates an intensity between demand and supply. Therefore, it’s suggested that we should implement a global re-location strategy of mineral resources, at the same time, strengthen the enforcement of resources exploration thus to enhance the sustainability of domestic resources.
