Fracture zone, fracture intensity and its connectivity are key parameters that affect oilfield production during the exploration and development in fracture type reservoir. Based on the summary of necessity, geologic significance and methods (such as fractal dimension description, artificial intelligent fuzzy description, micro-characterization, etc.) of quantitative characterization of fracture, this paper presents the relationship among the parameters of fracture system, the means for prediction and some cases in fracture prediction.
