GIS application in the metallogenic prediction of copper deposit in the Altyn Tagh metallogenic belt, China

  • Based on the field geological survey and indoor integrated study, combined with geological, geochemical and geophysical studies, the authors used GIS softwares to set up a basic database, and the nonlinear mineral resources evaluation model and stacking of MARS and other softwares to conduct the metallogenic prediction of copper deposits in the Altyn Tagh metallogenic belt. It is proved that the metallogenic prediction based on the GIS is effective. It may provide more and important ore search information and methods for the metallogenic study in the area.
