Abstract:
The dual mapping method of volcanic sequence lithology lithofacies has been improved further in the course of the 1∶50 000 geological surveying in the Minqing area, Fujian. By using remote sensing images, not only separate volcanic structures, but also various kinds of superimposed volcano tectonic associations and volcanic groups were observed during the mapping. As a result, a geological map that shows the paleo volcanoes in the surveyed area was drawn up, with marked volcano tectonic features and sharp stereoscopic impression, thus reflecting the character of volcanism, evolutionary processes and volcanic facies distribution of different stages. And hence, a proper stratigraphic framework of volcanic sequences has been erected.
