Abstract:
Thre exist two large-scale ductile shear zones which extend about 30 km along the northwest and southeast sides of the metamorphic complex of Wugong Mountain in Jiangxi. The component rocks of the ductile shear zones are mylonite and mylonitized granite, gneiss, slate and sedimentary rocks. Various microstructures of the mylonite indicate the thrust movement sense of th eshear zones. The deformation of the shear zones possibly occurred in the late Early Paleozoic, which was related to the in teraction between the Cathaysian plate and the Yangtze plate during that period.
